What’s the big deal with Ryan Mallet?
Please forgive me upfront but I’m failing to see what the big deal is with Mallet. That seems to be the only thing I’ve heard about lately related to the hogs. Everywhere I turn I see the same ol crap. “Mallet enrolled at the UofA”. Based on what I’ve seen I’m not that excited.
I don’t know exactly what he was ranked when he came out of high school but I’m sure it was above #22 (as was Casey). What he did or accomplished in High School is irrelevant at this point. He’s played one year of college ball and his stats are not impressive.
Allow me to compare Dick to Mallet:

Based on what I’ve seen I’m not impressed. His numbers are reflect the conference he played in. Weaker stats in a weaker conference.

For one thing Casey Dick can’t throw the ball 50 yards in the air or hit the damn Baum Stadium sign. Casey is not a SEC QB. To refresh your memory, Ryan Mallett was ranked the #2 QB behind Jimmy Clausen and is the best QB Arkansas has gotten in years. If Mallett could play this year, there would be 2 dick’s on the sideline. Also, Dick has no Mcfadden or Jones to bail him out this year so look for someone else to play till Mallett is eligible.
